The Mass, celebrated by Bishop Joseph Caddy, honoured St Pius X, patron saint of Trevisani nel Mondo. The beautiful voices of the Innisfail Italian Choir filled the church during the service.

Following Mass, guests enjoyed a buffet lunch at Roscoe’s Pizza Place.

Association President Claudio De Faveri welcomed everyone, before the Trevisani anthem Trevisano non scordare was sung and Bishop Caddy offered grace.

Trevisani nel Mondo (People from Treviso in the World) is a worldwide organisation founded by Don Canuto Toso to support migrants from Treviso, Italy.

The North Queensland branch, established in 2015, now has almost 130 members from across the region, including Cairns, Innisfail, Tully, Ingham, Townsville and Ayr.

Two banners were displayed at the celebration – the international Trevisani banner and the North Queensland banner donated by Mary Baldissera in memory of her late husband Guido.

The association aims to preserve Treviso’s culture and language, foster fellowship among members, and support future generations to maintain their Italian heritage. Every three years, Trevisani from across Australia and overseas gather for a national convention to renew friendships and celebrate their shared roots.
