MISSION Beach’s Village Green came alive last month as the Cassowary Coast Business Women’s Network’s Business Bazaar drew huge crowds and close to 70 local businesses, transforming the precinct into a vibrant night-shopping festival filled with colour, music and community spirit.
The atmosphere was electric, with visitors packing the green to explore the region’s diverse business offerings and enjoy a long-awaited return of “the vibe” to Mission Beach.
The CCBWN created the event to showcase the strength of local enterprise and remind residents and visitors that everything they need is right here in the Cassowary Coast.
Months of planning by the CCBWN executive and members paid off, with organisers thrilled to see the community embrace the event.
CCBWN president Kerry Clow said she loved seeing everyone united in the cause.
“What I loved most was the joy of everyone coming together, so much positivity and real success for businesses selling their wares or sharing their services,” she said.
“Seeing the restaurants full and buzzing was fantastic.”
Local business owners and visitors echoed the sentiment.
Fiona Maclean said it was a fantastic event: “Thank you CCBWN for bringing back the vibe to the Village Green. What a wonderful evening,” she said.
JD De Silva praised the “great energy” created around the precinct.
The vision was to create a festival-style evening of shopping, dining, live music and connection –and the Village Green delivered in spectacular fashion.
Stalls stretched across the precinct, offering an impressive mix of health and wellbeing services, building and trade specialists, legal and accounting professionals, banking and telecommunications, family care services, jewellery makers, gourmet food producers, real estate agencies, travel operators, fashion and accessories, media, florists and standout local favourites such as Paper Lotus and Bingil Bay Distillery.
The professional presentation of each business impressed visitors and added to the event’s polished feel.
A crowd favourite was the bazaar bingo challenge, where guests collected stamps from participating businesses for the chance to win $10 food and drink vouchers redeemable on the night.
Thirty prizes were drawn across three time slots, keeping the excitement high and encouraging visitors to explore every corner of the event.
The bazaar was made possible through the Cassowary Coast Regional Council’s community grants program, with the Village Green beautifully lit by Danny and Diana Dade of Mission Beach Generator and Electrical Hire. Live music by Alisa Q set the tone, while professional photography and marketing by Natural Images by Susan Kelly elevated the event’s presentation.
