Birdie blitz start for Rose continued to top place
ANDREW Rose lit up the course in the single Stableford 18 hole competition on 22 August, producing one of the most explosive starts seen at Innisfail in months.
After just four holes, Rose had rocketed to 11 points, thanks to three birdies in the opening four holes, leaving the rest of the field scrambling to keep pace.
While several regulars were away, those on course witnessed a stripe show. Leanne King pushed up the leaderboard into fourth, while Rodney Green claimed nearest to the pin on 6 and 15, beating the A graders.
Rose wasn’t done. He birdied 11 and 15 to reach five under, and on the 18th green faced a putt for 64 to seal the win by two points. He finished with a commanding 40 points.
