This show stars acclaimed Western Australian artist Amanda Canzurlo, known professionally as Bloom, whose warm tone and emotional depth have earned her a reputation as one of the country’s most captivating vocalists.

Bloom has built up a loyal following with her heartfelt performances, as well as her remarkable ability to reinterpret iconic songs with authenticity and soul. In this latest production, she turns her attention to the cherished catalogue of Eva Cassidy, delivering moving renditions of favourites such as, ‘Songbird’, ‘Time After Time’, ‘Fields of Gold’, and ‘Over the Rainbow’.

Cassidy’s own story is as touching as the songs she left behind. Despite her extraordinary talent, she struggled for recognition during her lifetime, as her eclectic style proved difficult for record labels to categorise. In 1996, Cassidy self released her only solo album, ‘Live at Blues Alley’, just months before her death from melanoma at the age of 33.

It was only after Cassidy’s death that the world discovered her brilliance. Two years on, her breathtaking interpretations of Fields of Gold and Over the Rainbow captured global attention. With the support of Blix Street Records, posthumous releases propelled her album Songbird to international success, topping charts in multiple countries and selling more than 12 million copies worldwide.

This year marks what would have been Cassidy’s 63rd birthday, as well as the 30th anniversary of her death, a reminder of the enormity of her achievements in such a short life, and how deeply her voice continues to resonate. Her interpretations have become woven into film soundtracks, personal milestones and the collective emotional memory of listeners around the world. Songs such as ‘Imagine’, ‘True Colours’, ‘The Rose’, ‘Autumn Leaves’ and ‘What a Wonderful World’ remain as stirring today as ever.

Through this heartfelt tribute, Bloom honours Cassidy’s quiet brilliance and enduring legacy, and invites audiences to experience the music of an artist who left the world far too soon, yet whose voice continues to echo with extraordinary power.

Tickets are $15 per person, which includes morning tea with no charge for a carer/support person.
