The standout moment belonged to participant Brooke Discher, who courageously cut her hair and raised almost $1000 for the Leukaemia Foundation. Her efforts will help fund vital support for people living with blood cancer, as well as leading-edge research and advocacy programs.

The event drew enthusiastic involvement from both participants and staff, many of whom coloured their hair in solidarity. Laughter, encouragement and a shared sense of purpose filled the room, creating a memorable and uplifting atmosphere.

Life Ur Way wellbeing officer and counsellor Hayley Leonardi said the event was about much more than fundraising. “Events like this, not only raise vital funds, but also create opportunities for participants to engage, build confidence and be part of something bigger,” she said.

“On behalf of Life Ur Way, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Brooke for her outstanding contribution, and to everyone who participated and supported the event.”

According to the Leukaemia Foundation, there are more than 120 types of blood cancers and related disorders, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Every donation helps provide life-changing support, including accommodation for regional patients who must travel for treatment, ensuring they and their families are not facing the journey alone.

Community members wishing to contribute to the cause can contact Life Ur Way on 4015 2994 or visit www.leukaemia.org.au.
