“This exciting initiative is part of council’s commitment to addressing community priorities identified in the Cassowary Coast community scorecard and the community voice action plan,” a council spokeswoman said.

“Youth services was highlighted as one of six key areas of focus and the creation of a youth advisory committee is a direct response to this feedback.

“The committee will provide a platform for young people across the region to share their ideas, insights and concerns with council, ensuring their voices are represented in decision-making processes.

“It’s an opportunity for youth to shape the future of the Cassowary Coast and contribute to creating a region they want to live, work and stay in.”

“I encourage all eligible young people to apply and be part of this exciting initiative.”

Representation will include three members each from Innisfail, Tully, Mission Beach and Cardwell.
