TRAVEL + Leisure Co. is investing millions into a full-scale refurbishment of its newly acquired beachfront property, Club Wyndham Mission Beach, as it joins the distinguished Club Wyndham South Pacific vacation club.

Mel Porter Design, who is responsible for the revamp of all 48 hotel suites, will draw inspiration from Mission Beach’s natural splendour, including the Great Barrier Reef’s vivid marine life, lush landscapes of Dunk Island and the ancient UNESCO-listed Wet Tropics rainforest.

The fresh look will feature aquamarine tones, coral-inspired accents and surf-white textures, creating a tranquil and refined coastal retreat for club owners.

“We’re not just updating a resort, we are raising the guest experience,” said Travel + Leisure Co. operations senior vice president Warren Cullum,

“This long-term investment in Mission Beach’s future reflects our commitment to giving our 60,000-plus owners exceptional stays in one of the world’s most stunning destinations.”

The make-over covers every room type, from studio to loft-style apartments, with coral-inspired cushions, soothing sandy tones, light timber finishes and breezy, open layouts. Reception areas, internal corridors and the gym will also undergo renovations to match the coastal palette.

“We’re channelling the soul of Mission Beach,” founder and creative designer Mel Porter said.

“Think radiant reef blues, coral warmth and turquoise waters, along with flowing, clean lines and natural materials, to create a sensory escape inspired by the environment itself.”

This project complements the broader $19 million Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation Project, aimed at positioning the community as a premier tourist haven.

With high year-round occupancy, Club Wyndham expects the upgrade to boost local tourism and reinforce its support for regional economies.

Located between Cairns and Townsville, Mission Beach offers direct access to iconic natural wonders and adventure experiences, from reef snorkelling without crowds to skydiving over tropical coastlines, white-water rafting on the Tully River and hiking the Musgrave Trail.

Set against this dramatic backdrop, the redesigned Club Wyndham Mission Beach promises to become one of North Queensland’s most desirable coastal getaways.

The resort will remain open during renovations, welcoming guests throughout the transformation.
