Etty Bay Bridge upgrades
WORKS are progressing at the Etty Bay Bridge upgrade project.

Cassowary Coast Regional Council says a temporary detour is complete and in use, the old one-lane bridge has been demolished and two culverts have now been installed in the creek bed.
The existing one-lane bridge is being replaced with two large culverts and be reinstated as a two-land crossing, improving traffic flow and safety through the area.
“Works are now underway to reinstate the roadway and create a new two-lane crossing, with the project expected to be completed and reopened by the end of June, weather permitting,” the council said.
“We can’t wait to see the finished result and thank the community for their patience while our contractors get the job done.”
The project is co-funded by council and the Queensland Government’s Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS).
In the meantime, The Department of Transport and Main Roads will begin pavement strengthening works on the Bruce Highway through Innisfail CBD (Ernest and Edith streets) between Station Street and McGowan Street from mid-June, weather permitting.
