Feast of Senses on agenda
THE future of the Feast of the Senses is in the spotlight later this month.
The organising committee holds its annual general meeting on Tuesday, August 26 at the Innisfail Cultural Complex at 6pm.
All members, friends of the Feast and interested community members are invited to attend.
“It’s time for renewal and growth,” president and manager Rosi Jensen said.
“We need new members with new ideas who can share the workload involved in organising this fabulous festival to help it continue into the future.”
The current volunteer committee had only six members, which was not enough to secure the future of the four-day event.
The committee is looking for new members who can assist with organisation and promotions and other jobs, to spread the workload.
“New members will not be thrown in the deep-end,” Ms Jensen said.
We’ll mentor and support people who take on any jobs to ensure success. We want to secure the longevity of the event but can’t do that on our own. We need a bit more help from the community.”
