Fighting for distinction
SIX Muay Thai fighters from Fusion Fight and Fitness Tully gym are set to rumble as they prepare to compete in the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA) Australian Open championships staged at the Morayfield Sports and Events Centre.

The 28 February event is a qualifier for the ISKA world championships held later this year in Australia, which is a major opportunity for these athletes.
Luke Hubert (aged 41), Harry Raiti, (21), Ozzy Sherriff (16) Matthew Kerr (14), Logan Jesse (13) and Kody Butler (15) will compete in individual events in their respective age and weight divisions.
In the lead-up, the six athletes are pushing each other and putting in the hard yards at training to be fight-ready for a national-level event.
Their coaches are Jonathan Kuhn, the 2025 International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Pan Pacific champion, along with Jack Mills, whose coaching and support have been crucial in these fighters’ preparation.
The gym has started a GoFundMe campaign, and all donations go into their fundraising account, which will help cover competition entry fees, travel, accommodation, as well as tournament-related expenses.
Although each fighter competes individually, funds raised help reduce the overall costs of attending the national championships and support the athletes equally.
Any donations, no matter how big or small genuinely helps and for those unable to donate then just sharing this page is appreciated.
To donate visit www.bit.ly/3LKPCNI also boost the team’s fundraising efforts by supporting the Goose Club raffles held every Thursday until the end of the month at the Mt Tyson Hotel, Tully.
Coach Jonathan Kuhn said he appreciated everyone who had supported the boys. “They train hard, stay focused and are a real credit to their gym and the Cassowary Coast community.”
