Mr Crema won the intellectual division with chromosomal conditions at the Torian Pro CrossFit Championships in Brisbane, earning qualification for the CrossFit Games in San Jose in seven weeks’ time.

The result continues a remarkable sporting journey for the Tully local, who has overcome significant health challenges to become one of Australia’s leading adaptive CrossFit athletes.

His mother, Maria Crema, said the achievement was a proud moment for the family.

“He actually won,” she said.

“He came first at the Torian Pro. It’s one of the biggest CrossFit championships in Australia.”

Maria said Dylan would now travel to the United States to compete against some of the world’s best adaptive athletes.

“He has qualified for the CrossFit Games in San Jose,” she said.

“He’ll be going there in seven weeks’ time.”

Coach Tracee Tozer previously said Dylan’s success demonstrated what could be achieved through dedication and determination.

“He’s showing that labels don’t have to limit you,” she said.

“As long as you apply dedication and hard work, you can achieve anything that you put your mind to.”

Mr Crema’s latest success has also been celebrated by members of the Far North’s inclusive sporting community, who have praised his achievements as an inspiration to others living with a disability.
