Fly high at 92nd Tully Show
THE 92nd annual Tully and District Show is set to explode with action on 24-25 July, promising two massive days of entertainment featuring fireworks, live music, sideshow alley, showbags and a high octane motocross stunt show that’s guaranteed to stop crowds in their tracks.
One of this year’s biggest drawcards is the Airtime Freestyle Motocross team, who will launch their motorcycles sky high while performing death defying tricks in a heart pounding display sure to keep spectators on the edge of their seats.
The popular Recycling on the Runway competition returns with a refreshed twist, encouraging entrants to transform recyclable materials into wearable fashion pieces that can be worn, carried or moved.
In a new partnership, the Tully Show has joined Racing Queensland’s Off the Track program, supporting retired thoroughbred racehorses to transition to second careers. This is in addition to the ring events in the main arena which includes showjumping, hacks, led classes and horse sports.
The Selfie Challenge is back, offering show goers the chance to snap creative selfies at various locations around the grounds for a shot at winning $100 cash.
Crowds can also enjoy outstanding displays across dozens of exhibit categories, including Lego, poultry and caged birds, cattle, photography, needlework, orchids, fruit and vegetables, horticulture, floral art, bananas, sugarcane, rare fruits and farm produce.
Live music will keep the atmosphere buzzing with performances by Alisa Q, Dennis Dryden and the Innisfail Community Band. The Memphis Moovers Duo will roam the grounds with their big hats, big shoes, novelty cars and hit tunes, while Lara the Clown, Melville’s Animal Farm and the RESTA reptile show promise plenty of family friendly fun.
A spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky about 9pm on Friday.
Show manager Caroline Chadwick encouraged locals to come along and support “the best little show in the north,” saying nothing makes her happier than seeing families enjoying themselves and “smiles on the children’s faces.”
Bonus ride tickets are now available for $25 per sheet from the show office. Prepaid entry is encouraged to ensure smooth access through the gates.
Prepaid two day family passes are $50, with adult passes $30, children $10 and pensioners $15. One day passes are $45 for families, $20 for adults and $10 for children and pensioners. Show day tickets are sold at the front gate only, while prepaid tickets are required for all other entry points.
