Free waste vouchers
TWO free waste disposal vouchers will be included with each Cassowary Coast Regional Council residential rate notice this financial year.

There will be one voucher included in each rate notice.
A council spokeswoman said the vouchers were designed to make property clean-ups easier, especially ahead of the wet season, while helping households manage waste and reducing illegal dumping across the Cassowary Coast.
“Each voucher can be used for one eligible load of dry household waste, is valid until the expiry date shown on the voucher, can only be used once, is linked to the property it was issued to, and can be used at any Cassowary Coast Regional Council waste transfer station,” she said.
“The vouchers cannot be used for tyres, fridges, freezers, air conditioners, solar panels, asbestos or other materials that attract a separate disposal fee.”
The council has also retained a discount for ratepayers who pay on time.
Deputy Mayor Nicholas Pervan said by retaining the on-time payment discount and introducing free waste vouchers for residential ratepayers, “we’re providing practical support while continuing to deliver the essential services our community relies on”.
