Geoff Johnston wins gripping two-point B-grade thriller
A GRIPPING two-point thriller lit up the greens on 13 June, with Geoff Johnston holding his nerve to edge out Blake Moreland 25-23 in a nail biting B-grade men’s singles semi-final.

The high-quality bowls contest went down to the final three ends, where both players drew beautifully to the kitty, but Johnston’s final bowls held firm to secure a hard fought victory.
Johnston will now face Rob Croatto in the B-grade men’s singles final.
The men’s pairs told a very different story that same day. Hayden Hohnke and Jim Martinod delivered a commanding 24-9 win over Wayne O’Neill and Steve Stoter in their championship round. Juhas and Sinclair controlled the match from the outset, showcasing consistency and precision across the board.

Thursday afternoon social bowls on 11 June produced another tight finish. The team of Wayne O’Neill, Warren Sinclair, Greg McDonald and David Cook claimed the win on 25 points, narrowly edging out runners up Doug Juhas, Geoff Johnston and Vince Cooper, who also finished on 25 but fell short on countback.
New members and visitors are invited to join Thursday social bowls.
Names are required by 12.30pm for a 1pm start. The $15 entry includes two games of 12 ends, smoko and a jackpot draw.
