Get ready for hilarity
PERTH comedy sensation Emma Krause is bringing her smash hit energy back to Innisfail, returning to the Con Theatre on 5 July at 3.30pm with her new show ‘Spanx and the City’, a riotous, feel good celebration of womanhood that audiences across Australia are calling “the best night out with friends”.

Fresh off the success of her sold out debut ‘40+Fabulous’, Ms Krause’s latest show dives head first into the chaos of modern womanhood.
After hearing from women nationwide, she found herself asking the big question: why are we still sucking everything in, our bodies, our ambitions and our burnout?
Spanx and the City is a cocktail of perimenopause, teenage parenting and the pressure to stay cute, calm and composed (preferably in Lycra).
Between sips, Ms Krause recounts her misadventures in adult netball (“never again”), her friend Jenny’s sudden Cross Fit protein-era and the joys of dating men who only want to talk about ribs, Joe Rogan and jet skis.
Audience feedback has been glowing, with many calling the show a must-see. “My cheeks hurt from laughing so much,” one fan said.
Another praised Krause as “a brilliant storyteller, funny and so relatable”.
Mindshare Adelaide described her work as “witty, clever and beautifully articulated,” while Fringe World Perth hailed her as “comedic genius”.
Ms Krause burst onto the Perth comedy scene after turning 40, making two state RAW comedy grand finals before becoming a finalist on Channel Seven’s Australia’s ‘Got Talent’ in 2019.
She’s also known for her role as Sue Finley in the Oz Lotto ads and has toured nationally with comedy trio The Motherhood.
Her 2024 solo debut 40+Fabulous sold out all 22 shows at Fringe World Perth, earning her Western Australia’s best comedy award.
She went on to tour the show to packed venues across the state, picking up the Silver Comedy Doustie Award. In 2025, Broadway Perth named her best solo performer of the year.
Think Sex and the City meets Stress in the Suburbs minus the stilettos, plus a whole lot of women laughing hysterically at the things we all pretend we are “fine” about.
Tickets are available online at www.observer.s.gy/VDgZlw or at the door on the day.
