A field of 42 players hit the course for the single Stableford 18 hole competition on Saturday 8 August, and the day started with a highlight: Barry Scott slam dunked his sandy from 80 metres on the first, scoring an eagle and going on to shoot 78.

Ten players finished at or better than their handicap. Morning scores included 36 points; Ian Saunderson, Hal Barclay on 36 points; Damien King and Marc Di Carlo on 37 points; Trent Baptiste, Jasper Curzon and Stephen Todd on 38 points, while Allan Gould finished with the top morning score of 39 points.

The afternoon field needed something special and delivered. Bob Butorac shot even par for 39 points, while Craig Alman produced the round of the day with 41 points, securing the win thanks to sharp short game form and a new driver.
