Golfers swing their way to glory on Tully course

GOLFERS took part in the two-ball Ambrose event held in memory of Vesa Hyytinen on 14 February, where visitor Clair Begley from Half Moon Bay claimed the ladies nearest to the pin 2/11 and Phil Mulley, the men’s 7/16, with Jim Boston taking the pin shot on 7/16. The approach shot on 9/18 also went to visitors, Clair Begley (ladies) and Rob Begley (men’s).

NTPs: Men’s – Phil Mulley, Jim Boston.12 February Sporters Stableford 9 holes. Results, 1st: Brice Henry 22 points, 2nd: Gerald Straatman 17 points, 3rd: Mark Lane 16 points.

NTPs: Men’s – Mark Lane, Tane Takai and Lou Lardi.

On 5 February, Mark Lane continued his great form, winning the nine-hole competition with 23 points and nearest to the pin on hole 7/16. Tanu Wulf continued to play well and took out the six-hole event with 14 points.

The run downs went to Kevin Edwards with 18 points and John Pender on a countback with 17 points. Pender also claimed nearest the pin for B-grade on hole 9/18, while Mike Ellicott won the putting competition with just 11 putts and Simon Strutt won nearest the pin for C-grade on hole 9/18.
