The hands-on event was an opportunity for local players to train under accredited coaches and experience the world famous Reds philosophy in Innisfail.

Boys and girls aged six to 16 took part in 45 minute coaching clinics led by Liverpool FC International Academy coach Kevin Grima and supported by GCC Academy coaches Jacob Vecchio, Chris Clauss and Liam Crossland.

The sessions focused on building core football skills, improving game awareness and boosting confidence in a fun, energetic environment.

Liverpool FC International Academy Australia director of football Kevin Grima said it was inspiring to see so many young players embracing the opportunity.

“It brings me great pleasure to support Good Counsel College with their second community day, exposing local children to an authentic Liverpool experience close to home,” he said.

The college launched its partnership with Liverpool FC International Academy Australia in July 2025, hosting its first community day shortly after.

The college appreciated all attendees for their support and said it looked forward to expanding football opportunities through its ongoing partnership with the academy.

Liverpool FC, founded in 1892, is one of the world’s most recognisable sporting institutions, with six European Cups, 19 league titles, seven FA Cups and more than 20 other major honours.

The Liverpool FC International Academy delivers the same coaching curriculum used in Liverpool, teaching young players worldwide how to play ‘The Liverpool Way’, a holistic approach built on four core values: ambition, integrity, passion and unity.

Players are developed across five key areas: technical, tactical, social, physical and mental, with the individual always at the centre.

Through its partnership with the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE), Liverpool FC International Academy Australia brings this world class football education to communities across the country, including Good Counsel College.
