Grants for three groups

THREE Cassowary Coast organisations have received funding in the latest round of the Queensland Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF).

They are:

  • Innisfail and District Historical Society – $21,983.33 to upgrade their Edith St school of arts museum building and buy equipment

  • Mission Beach Football Club – $3207 to buy equipment

  • Returned and Services League of Australia (Queensland branch) Cardwell sub branch – $35,000 to upgrade Facility.

Round 126 of the GCBF again attracted strong interest, with more than 2000 applications from across the state.

Attorney-General and Justice and Integrity Minister Deb Frecklington said the GCBF supported organisations and people who dedicated their time to strengthening communities across Queensland.

“These organisations are at the heart of our communities, and grant funding from the GCBF ensures they can continue to operate and deliver vital services for Queenslanders,” she said.

Ms Frecklington thanked the successful applicants for their continued dedication and commitment to their communities.
