Impressive young golfers
BROTHER and sister duo Keean and Keira Greven played in the Mossman Golf Club junior open, where Keean finished as runner-up in the 13-hole boys nett, while Keira won the six-hole modified girls’ gross.

Another impressive effort saw Keean win the 13-hole boys’ gross and Keira finish as gross winner in the six-hole girls’ modified in the Gordonvale Golf Club junior open.
At the Cairns Junior Open, they played well again and Keean won the 13-hole boys’ nett with Keira taking out the six-hole girls’ nett, Keean finished as the winner of the 13-hole boys’ gross at the Far North Queensland junior championships and Atherton Curlew junior open, while Keira won the six-hole girls’ gross, while Caine Cockle finished as runner up in the 18-hole boys’ gross runner up at the Atherton junior open.
The first junior open of the season at Mount Garnet saw Caine Cockle take out the 18-hole boys’ gross, Keean Greven winner of the 13-hole boys’ nett, with Keira victorious in the six-hole modified girls’ gross.

The RT Mobile Engineering Single Stableford event was hot right from the start and with the course being so dry, usually the old boys climb up the leaderboard.
There were two points between first and ninth with seven players tied on 36 points. Terry Young and Mick Wilkinson tied on 36 points and held the clubhouse lead after their rounds, but the heat came from the afternoon groups.
After a hiatus due to a hip replacement, Jim Ferguson made an immediate impression when he returned to play 18 holes. Despite a small blow out on the 17th, he was still able to grab the clubhouse lead with an impressive 37 points.
This was until Stephen Todd entered the fray who had quite a few putts and put together another great round with 38 points which earned him a single-shot victory over Ferguson. The Todd brothers also won the ticket, while Tracey Dickinson picked up both pro pins.
