Last shot at second chances
THE Second Chances Op Shop at the Mission Beach Family Church is holding its final event of 2026 next month.

The event is at shop 3, Banfield Plaza, 2-4 Stephen St, Mission Beach, on Thursday 19 November until Saturday 21 November.
Op Shop spokeswoman Judy Stipis said it would be a great opportunity to shop for Christmas presents.
“Come along and discover some fantastic bargains at our pop-up op shop,” she said.
“You’ll find a great range of quality pre-loved clothing, household items, books, toys and more, all at affordable prices.
“Every purchase helps support the vulnerable in our community.
Mrs Stipis said the church was “gratefully accepting clean, good-quality donations at the church on the following Mondays from 9am - 11am on 2, 9 and 16 November. “Whether you’re looking to declutter, donate, shop, or simply connect with the community, we’d love to see you there,” she said.
Mrs Stipis asked that the community please ensure goods were of good quality and not left outside of those dates and times unless prior arrangements have been made.
“The church is not attended outside of these times,” she said.
“Electrical items must be tagged and tested as safe before sale and large furniture cannot be accepted as space is very limited, although small furniture items can be accommodated.
“The Second Chances Pop-Up Op Shop also supports many in our community who may need a little extra support during tough times, as all earnings are donated back to local organisations, such as Tully Support Centre’s outreach to Mission Beach, Meals On Wheels and providing Christmas hampers to many of our elderly.”
