Magical evening
FAMILIES and community members are invited to experience a magical evening of cultural connection at the ‘Night at the Library’ event at the Innisfail Library on Friday 27 March.

The Cassowary Coast Regional Council’s library and museum services, together with Mamu Health Service, will transform the library into a lively hive of activities for all ages after closing time and into the night.
Starting at 5pm until 7pm, the event will feature shared storytelling, many multicultural craft activities, a family photo booth and a community meal provided by Mamu Health Service.
Families who may not usually attend library programs or are unable to visit during regular hours will be able to share a sense of belonging and connection while celebrating the diversity of our local community.
“A Night at the Library is a wonderful opportunity for families and community members to come together, share stories and celebrate the vibrant cultures that make our region so special,” Mayor Teresa Millwood said.
“Libraries are more than just places for books, they are hubs for connection, learning, and community, and this event is a perfect example of that.”
Cassowary Coast Cr Trudy Tschui said the evening was about creating a space where everyone felt welcome and included.
“It’s a chance to experience the magic of storytelling, explore different cultures and enjoy quality time with family and friends,” she said.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Mamu Health Service to bring this event to life and look forward to seeing our community come together.”
