Market to liven up seaside
MISSION BEACH will turn into a bustling night shopping hub on Thursday 20 August, when the Cassowary Coast Business Bazaar takes over the Village Green with a festival-style evening of stalls, food, music and prizes from 4.30pm-9pm.

Organised by the Cassowary Coast Business Women’s Network and supported by the Cassowary Coast Regional Council, the bazaar will showcase businesses from across the region.
Almost all Village Green traders will open late, joined by more than 30 additional pop up stalls offering everything from professional services to handmade goods.
Visitors can expect a lively atmosphere with shopping, dining and live music by Alisa Q, plus the chance to meet the people behind local businesses.
The event will feature a diverse mix of operators, including health and wellbeing providers, building and trade specialists, legal and accounting services, training providers, banking and telecommunications, family support services, jewellery makers, gourmet food producers, real estate, travel, fashion, media, florists and unique local favourites, such as Paper Lotus and Bingil Bay Distillery.
A highlight of the night will be Bazaar Bingo, an interactive game encouraging shoppers to explore the precinct.
Participants collect stamps from businesses listed on their card, and once they reach 15 stamps, they go into the draw for $10 food and drink vouchers redeemable on the night. Thirty vouchers will be given away across three draw times of 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7pm with winners required to be present.
Adding extra excitement, the Mission Beach Tavern has donated a grand prize: a hamper “filled with bottles of the good stuff,” drawn at 8pm. The tavern will stay open late and invites visitors to round out their evening there.
Organisers say the bazaar is designed to celebrate local business and bring the community together.
With shopping, food, entertainment and prizes, it promises to be a standout night for families, friends and visitors.
Locals are encouraged to bring their family, meet the faces behind the region’s businesses and enjoy a great night out supporting the Cassowary Coast’s diverse business community.
