Mission Beach lap pool closed for maintenance
THE 25m lap pool at Mission Beach Aquatic Centre will be temporarily closed from today (16 September 2026) for essential renewal works.
THE 25m lap pool at Mission Beach Aquatic Centre will be temporarily closed from today (16 September 2026) for essential renewal works.
A Cassowary Coast Regional Council spokeswoman said works included replacement of the accessibility ramp handrails, along with a pool condition inspection and minor maintenance while the pool is drained.
“These works are essential to maintain safe and accessible use of the facility,” she said.
The spokeswoman said the expected re-opening was Tuesday 6 October.
“The billabong pool and indoor/hydro pool will remain open,” she said.
“The lap pool at Tully pool is open for use as well.”
During this time, the community can expect:
no access to the 25m outdoor lap pool
minor noise impacts and some internal changes to patron access within the centre.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding while these works are completed,” the spokeswoman said.
