Residents gathered across the Cardwell Library, JC Hubinger Memorial Museum and Heritage Precinct to share stories, preserve local memories, build new connections and prepare for the future on Friday 9 October.

A Cassowary Coast Regional Council spokeswoman said from the Voices of Cardwell Conversation Café and local poetry to museum tours, disaster preparedness workshops, Tech Help, creative activities and community stalls, every part of the day celebrated the knowledge, generosity and community spirit that continue to carry Cardwell forward.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to the Cardwell and District Historical Society, participating community organisations, volunteers, council representatives, guest speakers and everyone who attended,” she said.

“Your stories, conversations and contributions made the day truly meaningful.
