The club was successful in gaining a grant from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and support from the Cassowary Coast Regional Council for resurfacing, which was finalised in time for the new pickleball season finalising the repairs in July this year.

“The new courts look simply stunning, said Cardwell District Pickleball Club (CDPC) secretary Sue Metcalfe.

Bendigo Bank also generously donated funds to provide club members with uniform T-shirts for which we are extremely grateful. They were designed and made by Glen Hussey of Fish Feen specifically for our members and they look fantastic,” she said.

The group plays weekly on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons from 3.30pm.

People are welcome to come and try this fast, fun game that is growing in popularity.

Paddles are supplied. You need to bring your own sneakers, hat, sunscreen and water.
