Palmerston Highway update
THE Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is continuing essential repairs at two damaged sites on the Palmerston Highway.

Site one, 2.5 kilometres west of Crawfords Lookout, has commenced piling works to stabilise the downslope landslip. Concrete is to be poured into the 24m casings for additional structural support. To date, soil nailing, coir matting and high tensile mesh have been completed on the upslope.
Site two, 1.5 kilometres west of the Henrietta Creek day use area, has passed 80% completion of the coil nailing and once this is finalised will have coir netting and high tensile mesh installed and the site will be revegetated prior to the wet season commencing.
Drivers can expect traffic delays of up to 10 minutes while equipment is unloaded on site. There is also expected to be single lane closures, reduced speed limits and traffic control in place until works are completed.
TMR reminds drivers that if you are the last in the queue at work sites, please turn on your hazard lights to warn approaching drivers and it is essential that all drivers are vigilant and drive to the conditions.
