Photographers on a Mission
THE highly anticipated FOCUS Photography Awards Exhibition at Mission Beach opens this Friday night, with category competition winners announced on the evening.
The Mission Arts event, held at the Mission Beach Community Arts Centre, has been running since 2011 and is known for attracting photographers from Cairns to Townsville.
The event draws a diverse collection of works across the 13 categories available, with the backing of a committed community of individuals and businesses that sponsor and provide prizes across the awards.
As well as competing across the 13 categories, this year’s entrants are also eligible for the Display Team Prize, the People’s Choice Award and the Judges’ Choice Award.
Major event sponsor, Tassal seafood producers, will officially open the exhibition, which is a ticketed event.
A Judges’ Critique will also feature on Saturday, and the winner of the People’s Choice Award will be announced at the end of the exhibition on April 22.
The FOCUS Photography Awards Exhibition will be on display from 13 March – 21 April at Mission Arts and can be viewed daily during Gallery openhours (10am-2pm).
