Poignant art show
AN exhibition inspired by a century of Tully Masons involves invited artists who were asked to explore what ‘tradition, ritual, community’ meant in their own lives and in the world.
The exhibition at the Tully Masonic Centre shows the different ways that artists have responded to the themes, including Frankie Vleeskens with his beautifully rendered ‘Woman at the well’ currently on display. The original works are available for sale.
Richard Howard is displaying a selection of true to type machines created with North Queensland timbers.
Mr Howard recently took out show champion in the relevant section at the Townsville Show.
The pop-up shop at the centre, open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm or by appointment, has an interesting range of original works and merchandise available for sale at affordable prices. All have been created by local artists.
It includes a variety of artworks, greeting cards, photographs, prints and linen.
