Point tenders open
A TENDER process has started for the allocation of boat mooring places at the popular Clump Point jetty at Mission Beach.

Cassowary Coast Regional Council – which manages the state-owned facility – is inviting tenders for the allocation of pen berths and swing moorings.
“This opportunity is open to commercial operators seeking to occupy identified mooring spaces, with successful applicants entering into a facility use agreement with council,” a post on its social media read.
The largest pen can take boats of up to 28 metres in length with a maximum width (beam) of 11.5 metres for multihull boats and four metres for monohulls.
There are also one 24-metre and three 20-metre pens, as well as six swing moorings nearby to accommodate various vessel types.
Current fees – subject to change in the 2026-27 financial year – range from $6,745 to $17,000 per year.
Tenderers can apply to use the Clump Point facility through council’s website, where further details can be found.
Council says, “tenders must be submitted by no later than midday on the closing date of 18 May 2026.”
