Pool upgrade finished
THE Mission Beach Aquatic Centre (above) has re-opened a week ahead of schedule following works on the 25m outdoor lap pool.
It opened last week with a council spokeswoman thanking the community for their patience.
“We thank the community for its patience and understanding while these essential renewal works were carried out to improve the safe and accessible use of the facility,” she said.
Resident Paul Roxby, on Facebook, was appreciative.
“Thanks for your efforts at this wonderful facility that’s well used and plays a big role in community,” he said.
The works included replacement of the accessibility ramp handrails, along with a pool condition inspection and minor maintenance while the pool is drained.
“These works are essential to maintain safe and accessible use of the facility,” she said.
The pool closed on 16 September and was scheduled to re-open on 6 October.
