Private isle yours for $10m
A PRIVATE island off Mission Beach has had its asking price slashed by millions from $15 million to $10m.

Tucked between Dunk Island and Bedarra Island in the heart of the Coral Sea, Timana Island – also known as Thorpe Island – is one of the last truly untouched private freehold islands in Australia and one of the very few anywhere along the Great Barrier Reef to hold title all the way to the water’s edge.
It is owned by the Melbourne-based Veall family who have owned the island for decades.
It is described as 15ha of dense, unspoiled rainforest cascade down to a single pristine coral sand beach, framed by coconut palms, native hibiscus and coral flame trees.
“Wandering paths wind through the interior beneath a wild, fragrant canopy of avocado, mango, coconut and citrus trees, the legacy of decades of quiet cultivation, now gently reclaimed by nature,” say marketers Private Island Online.
“Timana is the only single title island within the exclusive Family Group of Islands, a cluster that also includes Dunk Island, Bedarra Island and seven protected national park islands.
“A weathered three-bedroom beach shack remains on the property, a charming relic of island life, ready for restoration or reinvention.
“With Dunk and Bedarra both home to established resorts nearby, there is genuine scope to explore boutique style development potential in consultation with local council and state authorities, alongside the option to build a private palatial residence of your own design.
“Life on Timana moves at nature’s pace: rainwater tanks, fishing off the beach and boating between neighbouring islands. It is, by all accounts, a place that feels like paradise in every season,
“Owned by one family, Timana Island offers all of the above and more, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase this freehold island and live like a king or disappear into a representation of Robinson Crusoe.”
