Registrations for Innisfail Golf Open now open
WITH the Innisfail Open fast approaching on 29-30 August, local golfers have been in top form across recent competitions, from sporters results to a tightly-contested monthly medal and strong junior performances during the school holidays.

A field of 35 players braved uncertain weather for the 18-hole Monthly Medal on 1 August, with the rain holding off long enough for strong scores across the board.
Morning groups dominated the top 10 and the final holes produced a gripping finish.
Ian Street and Scott Nuttall tied on -1, while Norm Stewart and Steven Marsh battled down the home stretch. Marsh birdied 17 to take the lead and parred 18 to secure the win.

During the second week of the June/July school holidays, two of the Innisfail club’s junior golfers competed at the Half Moon Bay Golf Club Junior Open and did the club proud with impressive performances.
Keira Greven dominated the 9-hole modified girls, finishing as gross winner, day 1 nett winner and day 2 nett winner. Her brother Keean claimed nett winner and day 1 nett winner in the 18-hole boys division.
