Students just tag along
LAUGHTER, teamwork and plenty of league talent has filled Mundoo State School as about 90 students from the Canecutter Small Schools Cluster came together at the school for the Silkwood Mena Creek Sports Association (SMCSA) League Tag Gala Day.

Students from Mundoo, South Johnstone, Flying Fish Point, Silkwood and Mena Creek joined forces for a day that showcased small rural schools.
Rather than competing school against school, students were grouped vertically across the cluster, giving them the chance to mix, form new friendships and learn to work together.
“One of the most rewarding parts of the day was watching students from different schools quickly come together as teammates,” Mundoo State School principal Andrew Maley said.
“It was wonderful seeing them build confidence, connect and support one another.”
Innisfail State College Rugby League Academy students sharpened the younger pupils passing, catching, tagging, kicking and attacking skills before heading into games.
Mr Maley praised the college students for their professionalism and leadership.
