TWO Innisfail State High School students have been awarded their Certificate II in Aircraft Line Maintenance by Aviation Australia.
Hamish and Bailey (surnames withheld) graduated in Cairns earlier this month.
According to a Facebook post, Innisfail State College said the two students had travelled up to Cairns each Thursday to complete their training and now could enrol in further study to enhance their knowledge and skills in this field.
“With the aviation sector in Cairns continuing to expand, exciting career opportunities are emerging for qualified aircraft maintenance professionals,” the college said.
“It is anticipated that the region will require an additional 200-300 skilled aircraft engineers by 2029.
“This creates exciting pathways for students pursuing careers in the aviation sector.
“Special congratulations to Hamish, who was awarded the prestigious certificate of excellence in recognition of his exceptional performance, dedication and teamwork throughout the course.
“As the sole recipient of this award, Hamish’s name has been added to the perpetual trophy and he was presented with a toolkit to support his future career journey.”
