Toilet block upgrades

TRAFFIC and property access will be disrupted while contractors undertake a modular building lift within the car park between Butler and Richardson Street in Tully.

A Cassowary Coast Regional Council spokeswoman said the works required the use of a crane to lift a modular building and a safety perimeter would be established during this time.

The works started yesterday through to Friday (23-26 June), weather permitting.

Temporary impacts include:

  • Traffic changes: Traffic control will be in place, including potential car park closures and short delays during crane operations

  • Construction noise: Businesses may experience increased noise from crane use and associated machinery

  • Pedestrian access: Pedestrian access will be temporarily redirected around active work areas, as shown in the image above.

“For the safety of workers and road users, changed traffic conditions will apply for the duration of the works,” the spokeswoman said.

“These works are part of the demolition and re-construction of Violet Smith park toilet block.
