Touch of Bali on the seashore
MISSION Beach turns into an Australian version of Bali later this month when the fourth annual Indonesian Mini Festival is held.
Organisers say the event at the Mission Beach Progress Hall on Saturday 25 July will be “a spectacular celebration of tradition, music and community”.
“Be captivated by the enchanting sounds of Gamelan Dangiang Sunda, witness the dynamic art of Sundanese Rampak Kendang (drumming together) and immerse yourself in the soothing bamboo melodies of The Rainforest School,” they said.
“Enjoy special performances by Kang Efiq and friends and savour authentic Indonesian cuisine available to buy.
“Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of cultural discovery, music and flavour.” Food will be on sale from 5pm and entertainment follows at 6pm.
The event is supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Cassowary Coast Regional Council, fostering local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
It is also backed by the Rainforest School Parents and Friends.
