Triples bowls champs

ANOTHER competitive round of the Innisfail Ladies Bowls 2027 Three Bowls Triples Club Championship was played on 5 August, with Bev Anderson, Christine Pascoe and Dian Catelan securing a solid 22-12 victory over Helen Paterson, Daphne Kirkman and Maisie Smith.

In social fours, Marilyn Allen, Cheryl Higgins, Carol McRobbie and Diana O’Brien claimed a 17-10 win against Catrina Cook, Kath O’Brien, Jan Dunn and Lyn Stevenson.

The ladies club hosts their Patroness Day today, sponsored by patroness Audrey Rackley and will hold its annual general meeting on Wednesday 19 August.

More than 40 bowlers enjoyed perfect weather for social bowls on 6 August, including eight visiting players making the most of the tropics and the club’s warm hospitality.

Competitive play remained tight, with Clem Kinbacher, Joe Van Tienen, skip Mark Elliott and John Fossey and finishing on 24, just ahead of Ian Humphreys, Michael Roots, Greg McDonald and Bill Hoskins, who posted 22.
