Tully juniors celebrate

MORE than 170 people gathered at Tigers Leagues Club as Tully Tigers’ Rugby League Football junior teams in the under 13 to under 17 competitive age groups as they celebrated another successful season.

This season, the club had strong participation with strong numbers in all age groups.

Coaches from each team delivered a season overview and commended players on their dedication, efforts and improvement throughout the year.

2025 award winners:

Under 17 boys

  • Coaches’ award: Jackson Solien

  • Best back: Tama Wilson

  • Best forward: Tyler Henning

  • Best and fairest: Peter Solien

Under 15 boys

  • Coaches’ award: Marley Ulutui

  • Best back: Ioane Kolo

  • Best forward: Jarryd Carlaw

  • Best and fairest: Kaidyn Beeron

Under 15 girls

  • Coaches’ award: Sarah Anderson

  • Best back: Amelia Solien

  • Best forward: Edner Roumanu

  • Best and fairest: Amarri ConGoo

Under 13 boys

  • Coaches’ award: Hudson Bayly

  • Best back: Semion Songoro

  • Best forward: Logan Jesse

  • Best and fairest: Graysen Sala

Under 13 girls

  • Coaches’ award: Chelsea Maifredi

  • Best back: Hayley Jack

  • Best forward: Aimee Zonta

  • Best and fairest: Zali ConGoo

Junior club player of the year: Peter Solien

Junior club person of the year: Kelly Clarke

The Tigers had a fantastic season with nominations in each competitive age group for the silver medal awards.

Peter Solien and Tama Wilson were in the running (under 17 boys), Ioane Kolo (under 15 boys), Graysen Sala (under 13 boys), Amarri ConGoo was a finalist for Under 15 female, while Chelsea Maifredi and Zali ConGoo Under 13 female player of the year awards. Nominees gained selection on a 3-2-1-point basis by opposition team staff after each round.

Amarri ConGoo took out the under 15 girls Ssilver medal at the prestigious junior awards dinner held in Cairns.

The under 13 girls team played in the elimination semi-final against Edmonton but suffered a heavy defeat, while the under 13 boys team progressed to the semi-finals but went down to Mossman by 10 points.

Earlier this year, the under 13s boys team competed in the Nate Myles Cup held in Gordonvale.

The Tully Tigers’ Rugby League Football Club, which thrives on volunteers wanted to thank all the committee, canteen staff, referees, coaches, managers, League Safe staff, sports trainers, volunteers, parents and sponsors for contributing to a successful 2025 season.
