The Gumboot 4s is usually played in June, however this was put back as the new green was not installed until early July.

Wet weather on July 22 meant the event was further delayed, however perfect weather conditions prevailed, and teams travelled from Cairns, Gordonvale, Innisfail and Ingham to take part in the tournament last month.

The winning team on the day was the Brothers Edmonton team of Joy Baird (lead), Ann Windsor (second), Kathy O’Hallaron (third) and Judy Rick (skip).

Runners up were a mixed team of clubs with Kathy Hitchings (lead), Sandra Bates (second), Liz Backhouse (third) and Joanne Townsend (skip).

The Gordonvale team made up of Linda Uhrenholt (lead), Patty Guy (second), Linda Owens (third) and Margaret Bruni (skip) finished in third place.

A great day was had by all ladies with lots of fun on the green followed by a lovely afternoon tea, presentation of prizes and raffle draws.
