Youth guide council plans
CASSOWARY Coast Regional Council has conducted a youth survey alongside the Cassowary Coast Careers Day 2026 to understand local priorities and guide its youth advisory committee.
The survey gathered feedback from young people on local activities, career pathways and community needs.
The goal is to help shape council planning and future youth initiatives.
A council spokeswoman said the careers day 2026 provided young people with the opportunity to explore career pathways, connect with local businesses and industries, and gain insight into the skills and qualifications needed for future employment.
“As part of the event, a youth survey was conducted to help guide the youth advisory committee and provide council with a better understanding of what matters to young people, including what they wanted to see, do and be involved in across the Cassowary Coast.”
Those who completed the survey went into the draw to win a YETI prize pack. The four winners were: Stella Ciclo of Innisfail State College, Ariana Nucifora of Good Counsel College, Libby Kena of Tully State High School and Lacey (surname withheld) of Babinda State School.
