INNISFAIL State College has again demonstrated its strong community spirit by hosting the annual cent sale fundraiser for the Innisfail Hospital Friends of the Foundation.

Held in the college’s sports hall, the cent sale is one of the foundation’s major fundraising events, helping to support vital equipment purchases for Innisfail Hospital.

Students played an active role in the event, assisting with the setup, operations and cleanup, a shining example of the school’s commitment to local causes.

ISC hospitality staff and students contributed by preparing hundreds of homemade biscuits and slices, which were served during afternoon tea to the many patrons in attendance.

All ISC students were outstanding role-models, displaying initiative, wonderful manners and an exemplary work ethic.

President Estelle Kopp expressed her thanks to Innisfail State College for their amazing and continued support of this event in supplying the facility, as well as teachers, students and families and everyone who contributed to make the event a huge success. She made special mention of principal Tanya Martin, Colleen Morrison and families for their efforts preparing the venue, all those who supported the event through ticket sales and cent sale prize donations.

Founded in 2012, Innisfail Hospital Friends of the Foundation is a volunteer-run group dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the hospital.

The facility offers a wide range of services such as 24-hour emergency care, maternity services, dental and mental health clinics and visiting specialists.

The foundation’s next major fundraiser is the annual charity golf day on Sunday, August 24 at El Arish Country Club.

The four-ball ambrose event costs $120 per team, which includes a light breakfast and lunch.

Participants are asked to arrive by 7.30am, with tee-off scheduled for 8.30am.

Bookings can be made by contacting Estelle Kopp on 0427 633 706.
