Repairs close bridge
THE Vic Sivyer Bridge or Ingham Road bridge at South Johnstone will be closed for various periods until Wednesday 22 April.
The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) said it would be carrying out essential bridge maintenance works as part of its ongoing program to ensure the continued safety and reliability of bridges on the state-controlled road network.
The works will involve repairs to steel structural components of the bridge.
Closure dates and times:
Monday 13 April to Sunday 19 April 2026 – 7.30am to 4pm daily. A half-hour access period will be provided from 11.30am to 12pm each day.
Monday 20 April to Wednesday 22 April 2026 – 9am to 2.30pm daily (adjusted to support school access). A half-hour access period will be provided from 11.30am to 12pm each day.
Emergency service vehicles will be provided access if required.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on approaches to the work site to advise motorists of changed traffic conditions.
