RFDS calls for support
THE Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) (Queensland Section) is calling on Queenslanders to help crews ‘Take to the Skies’ during its second annual Giving Day on 11 March.

The 24-hour appeal for the service, which is in its 98th year, will see every donation matched, doubling the impact for communities in rural and remote areas.
For RFDS Aeromedical Doctor, Dr Jason Coventry, responding to emergencies across the vast landscapes of North West Queensland is part of daily life.
“My role is essentially the safety net,” he said.
“If someone falls from a horse, suffers an accident on a cattle station or experiences a medical crisis in a remote location, we’re the team that helps get them from where they are to the care they need.”
RFDS (Queensland Section) Chief Executive Officer Meredith Staib said “‘Take to the Skies’ gives Queenslanders the chance to ensure people in remote, rural and regional communities can access the same high-quality care as those in our cities.”
The appeal begins at 8am on 11 March and runs for 24 hours.
